These terms cover your use of TakedownCheck (takedowncheck.co.uk), run by Scott Charnley Consultancy Ltd, company number 14926863, registered office C/O T&A Kirk Ltd, Office F13, Pool Innovation Centre, Trevenson Road, Pool, Cornwall TR15 3PL ("we", "us"). Contact: cases@takedowncheck.co.uk.
1. What we do
TakedownCheck is a tool. We prepare takedown packs: the boxes of a platform's copyright report form, filled in from the copy you point us to and your original work, for you to read, copy into the platform's form and submit yourself. With Protection, we also check the accounts you name each day and make a pack when one of them posts something that looks like your work, and we check whether the copies you've reported have come down.
You file every report. We never file on your behalf, and we never contact the person who posted a copy. We are not a law firm and don't give legal advice. Every decision about removing content is made by the platform. Platforms can refuse, delay, or restore content after a counter-notice.
We don't search the internet for your work. We only look at the copies and accounts you tell us about, and only at what anyone can see without signing in.
2. Proving your profile
Before we make a pack, you prove the YouTube channel, TikTok profile or Facebook Page is yours by adding a short code to its bio. If we can't read the bio, you can upload a screenshot of your own signed-in profile with the code on screen, which is checked automatically. We may refuse or remove any profile we're not satisfied is yours.
3. The free pack
- One free pack per profile (channel, TikTok profile or Facebook Page), however many accounts or email addresses are used.
- There's no charge and no obligation.
4. Protection

No VAT is charged. A match marked "possible" is for you to judge: we show why we flagged it, and you decide whether it's yours.
5. Your promises
A copyright report is your statement to the platform, made in good faith and, on many platforms, under penalty of perjury. So before you submit a pack, you confirm that:
- you own the copyright in the work, or are authorised by the owner
- you've read the pack and everything in it is true
- you've considered whether the use could be allowed, for example as criticism, review, news reporting or parody
You're responsible for every report you submit. If you submit a report that's false, you agree to cover our reasonable losses arising from it. Don't use TakedownCheck against content you don't own, or to harass anyone.
6. Cancelling
- Cooling-off: you have 14 days from starting Protection to cancel and get a refund. Protection starts straight away because you ask it to, so if you cancel within those 14 days we'll refund what you paid, less a fair amount for the days you've already had.
- Protection renews monthly until you cancel. Cancel any time from your dashboard; it stops at the end of the month you've paid for. We'll email you before any price change.
7. Our responsibility to you
We'll provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Packs are prepared from the platforms' own forms as we last saw them; platforms change their forms, and you should check each box against the form in front of you. We can't guarantee that any content will be removed or stay removed, or that our daily checks will find every copy. We aren't responsible for decisions platforms make, or for loss of profit, income or business. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and your statutory rights are not affected.

We use your information as set out in our privacy notice.

10. Changes and law
We may update these terms, and we'll email Protection customers about any significant change at least 30 days in advance. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can bring a claim in your local courts.
